Dolphin Swimming Club

Dolphin Swimming Club

The Dolphin Swimming Club was founded over 50 years ago by parents of children with special educational needs and disabilities, aged 5+ years who saw a way for their children to learn to swim, be active and break their social isolation.

Where

The club’s sessions take place at the Latchmere Leisure Centre in Wandsworth on Friday evenings and at the Putney Leisure Centre on Sunday evenings, both during school terms.

Let's Go Swimming!

If you have any queries about the club, how it works and who it helps, or if you would like to volunteer or donate, please contact us via the contact form, or  email.

What Parents and Carers Say

Parent - Dolphin Z Swimmer

“The Dolphin swim club is the best thing that has happened to my son. The sessions have really had a positive impact on him physically and mentally. The weekly sessions have also helped him make new friends and have built up his confidence all around. It is nice to be around a community of people that understands him and his struggles without the fear of any stigma. "

Parent - Dolphin N Swimmer

“For someone as young as N the fact that the swimming team allows myself or his dad to be in the pool with him, guiding us on how to teach him, allows us to bond with N in an activity that he loves.”

Parent - Dolphin W Swimmer

"Since going to Dolphins, our son has been so much happier on a Friday evening with fewer unwanted behaviours. Everyone at Dolphins is so welcoming and accepting - after attending for a year we really feel at home there on a Friday night, seeing all the regular faces."

Parent - Dolphin M Swimmer

"Enrolling my 8-year-old son in the Dolphin Swimming Club has been an incredible decision. This club has created a wonderful space for him to learn and have fun with his peers. The dedicated tutors provide expert guidance and support, helping him build valuable swimming skills. Seeing my son's happiness in the water and his progress each week reaffirms that choosing the Dolphin Swimming Club was the right choice for him."
